Yoga practice is very beneficial in helping to release tension, anxiety and stress which if allowed to progress can create ill health. By working with yoga postures, breathing exercises and relaxation, regular yoga practise can help us to find balance of mind, body and spirit.
The benefits of practicing yoga
It can help ease a wide variety of ailments from stress, tension, backache, hormonal imbalance, and many other issues, increasing circulation to all organs of the body, aiding digestion and helping to expel toxins from the body.
Our minds and bodies are deeply interlinked and the physical states that we achieve through Yoga subsequently reflect on our state of mind. Yoga can help us achieve balance on many levels. (Note it is important to seek medical advice if you have any outstanding medical issues).
We dont have to be young, fit and healthy to practise Yoga, it is possible at any age and any level of fitness, from beginners to advanced and even for athletes. We find a way for yoga to work with us and can start with very gentle yoga up to advanced. Whether we are wanting to relax, gain flexibility, strength, or overall balance Yoga is a truly wonderful practice.
